Governor Mark Parkinson and a top U.S. Treasury official will mark the grand opening of an eastern Kansas housing development for senior citizens.
Parkinson and Deputy Secretary Neal Wolin will travel on Thursday to Osawatomie for the opening of Woodland Hills Estate. Developers used a new tax credit program that was part of the federal stimulus package to complete construction.
The project aims to provide affordable housing for older residents of Osawatomie.
Later in the day, Parkinson and Wolin will hold a news conference in the governor's office in Topeka to discuss the visit and other projects funded by the federal assistance package.
