A new White House report says harmful effects from global warming are already here and worsening.
The report on the effects of climate change in the United States is the strongest and most urgently worded federal science study yet. It is being released by the White House science adviser and other top officials Tuesday afternoon.
Global warming has already caused flooding and drought and problems for energy, transportation, agriculture, health and general ecosystems in America, the report said.
It's the first climate report from President Barack Obama. Periodic climate reports are required by Congress.
