President Barack Obama is taking time between Western fundraisers to shine a spotlight on two favorite issues -- clean energy and economic stimulus.
The president today is scheduled to tour the "photovoltaic array" at Nellis Air Force Base, near Las Vegas. White House officials say the solar-powered cells provide a quarter of the base's power needs.
President Obama is also expected to discuss the progress of his $787 billion stimulus package. The money is paying for thousands of projects in construction and other fields throughout the country.
Officials say the president will address about 400 people at Nellis, including Air Force personnel, civilian workers and families living on the base.
Then it’s off to Los Angeles for the second of two fundraisers. This one's for the Democratic National Committee.
