WASHINGTON (AP) -- After a key vote today, an economic stimulus package is expected to pass in the Senate tomorrow.
Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine is among the few in her party who support the bill. She tells NBC's "Today" show it's not a perfect bill, but she argues it is "a good bill" that's needed.
President Barack Obama is hoping to garner support for it with a couple of road trips. This afternoon he'll host a town hall meeting in a part of Indiana battered by job losses. Tomorrow he'll be in Fort Myers, Fla., an area hit hard by foreclosures.
The Senate bill and the version the House passed are different enough that negotiations between the two chambers are expected to be difficult.
