Democrat Al Franken is holding on to a narrow lead over Republican incumbent Norm Coleman in a U.S. Senate recount in Minnesota but the final result shows no sign of being settled soon.

The state Canvassing Board is ready to award the last pile of
votes today, and it could put Franken up by 236 votes. But that
doesn't mean anything is over yet.

The two campaigns and the secretary of state's office are still
negotiating how to handle an estimated 1,600 improperly rejected
absentee ballots.

And Tuesday, the state Supreme Court is set to hear arguments over Coleman's claim that about 130 ballots were counted twice.
