The Illinois House panel weighing impeachment for Gov. Rod Blagojevich has resumed its work.

Lawmakers were likely to hear its first witnesses Thursday, including Auditor General William Holland. His own past probes of the Blagojevich administration have turned up improper contracts, incomplete records and sloppy handling of tax money.

Holland also frequently complains that the administration drags its feet on providing information and tries to stonewall his reviews.

Blagojevich attorney Ed Genson is attending Thursday's meeting.

The committee is expected to spend its day focusing on whether Blagojevich abused his power by defying lawmakers, refusing to release public documents and spending money without authorization.

Blagojevich was arrested by FBI agents last week, accused of scheming to sell President-elect Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat.
