A member of one of the state's most prominent political families isn't interested in being state treasurer.

Wichita stockbroker and financial adviser Jill Docking says turmoil in the nation's financial market would make it difficult for her to give up her job and leave her clients.

And, she says, "I wouldn't do it."

State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins is stepping down because she won the 2nd Congressional District seat in last week's election. She says she expects Jan. 2 to be her last day as treasurer.

Jenkins is a Republican, but Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius will appoint her replacement.

Docking's husband, Tom, served as lieutenant governor in 1983-87 and is the son and grandson of governors.
