Kansas will have new representation in Congress. State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins ousted Nancy Boyda in Tuesday's election.
With 99 percent of the vote in, the republican Jenkins held a 14,000 vote lead over Boyda.
It's a rare defeat for the democratic party in a year that it gained House seats nationally.
It was a much easier night for the state's other three house members. Dennis Moore, Jerry Moran and Todd Tiahrt easily won re-election.
