Advanced voting began Wednesday. As expected, a steady line of voters showed up to cast their ballots in one of the most anticipated elections in recent history.

Early voters had a 20-minute wait, which is a definite improvement over the long lines many had to endure four years ago.

"Last time i voted, it was two and a half hours in line. This time it's been
20 minutes," said advance voter Peter Leidich.

Sedgwick County election officials are expecting a record turnout as the number of registered voters is up in nearly every county in Kansas.

Officials believe that nearly 50% of all votes cast in Sedgwick County will be by advance ballot.

"I don't want to take the chance that something would come up on election day and I wouldn't be able to get to the polls," said one advance voter.

Advanced voting continues everyday until November 3rd.
