The Reno County clerk's office says a few voters have unnecessarily enclosed $1 in return envelopes containing their completed ballot.
Officials say confusion arose because it costs $1 in postage for the voter to mail the envelope. But in some cases, voters who had postage on the outside of the envelopes enclosed $1 bill.
Staff members say voters should put $1 in postage on the envelope, but there's no need to enclose cash. County officials said they'd try to return the money.
Voters also asked about the state's instructions to put a check or mark on the ballot, and the county's directions to fill the oval.
Deputy Election Officer Jenna Fager said ballot-counting machines will read any of the three, adding that subsequent advance ballots were changed to direct voters to fill the oval.
