More than 60,000 advanced ballots will be mailed out in Sedgwick County Wednesday. That's more than twice as many as were requested in the 2004 Presidential election. Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Bill Gale says that's a record.

"Presidential elections are always the busiest. This one may very well be the highest record turnout that we've seen for Sedgwick County," said Gale.

People are also turning out in record numbers to register to vote for the first time. Many saying they are very interested in the presidential race.

Election workers are also keeping a close eye on people registering, watching for fraud. A group called ACORN is suspected of trying to register people twice to vote or register ineligible voters.

Gale says Kansas' new data base double checks so that won't happen here.

You have until Monday October 20th to register to vote. If you want to vote by mail, call in to request an advanced ballot. If you want to vote early, advanced voting begins on October 22nd.
