Sedgwick County Commission candidate Karl Peterjohn says he won't participate in a debate being held on Tuesday sponsored by the Wichita Chamber of Commerce.
Last week, chamber members who are part of a political action committee announced they would raise funds to oppose Peterjohn's candidacy.
Peterjohn believes all tax increases should be approved by voters. Business leaders believe denying tax incentives for businesses could have a devastating impact on the economy.
At an afternoon news conference, Peterjohn said he has a long record of working to improve business sectors in the county.
Peterjohn is running for Tom Winters seat in the 3rd District.
