Republican Lynn Jenkins is making vocal support for President Bush's tax relief policies the center of her campaign.
Jenkins is trying to unseat Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Boyda in Kansas' 2nd District.
Jenkins has signed a pledge not to vote to increase taxes.
Many Democrats, including Boyda, see Jenkins' pitch on taxes as tone-deaf. They contend those voters want Congress to focus on tax relief to the middle class and small businesses and worry about federal budget deficits and the burgeoning federal debt.
Last week, Jenkins launched a television ad saying Boyda had supported "the largest tax increase in history," a reference to votes in 2007 and 2008 for budgets letting the Bush tax cuts expire.
