Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Boyda and Republican challenger Lynn Jenkins are having their first televised debate.
The event was set for 8 p.m. Wednesday. It will be broadcast from the studios of KTWU, the public television station in Topeka.
Boyda is seeking her second term in the 2nd District of eastern Kansas. She unseated five-term Republican Congressman Jim Ryun in 2006.
Jenkins is serving her second term as state treasurer and is a former legislator. She defeated Ryun in this year's Republican primary.
Republicans nationally have targeted Boyda since she took office in January 2007, in part because the district leans Republican.
