More than 100 senior citizens will convene in Topeka Wednesday to discuss their agenda for the upcoming session of the Kansas legislature.

The 112-member Silver-Haired Legislature hears testimony and votes on five bills, coming from all over Kansas with their concerns for seniors.

Payday loans and regulation of insurance policies are among the seniors' consumer concerns. Another measure would commit proceeds from wind energy to better fund services to the state's elderly.

And there's a proposal asking cities and counties with traffic lights to adjust the timing of the signals to give seniors and disabled persons more time to cross streets more safely.
