Republican Nick Jordan is pursuing a classic turn-the-rascals-out strategy in trying to unseat Democratic Congressman Dennis Moore in the 3rd District.
Moore doesn't deny Washington has problems, but he maintains he's done a good job of taking care of his constituents. He's seeking a sixth term in the November 4th election.
Moore has made a political career of persuading moderate Republicans to vote for him. Jordan is hoping to bring them back to the GOP, campaigning on the theme of Washington is broken and he can help fix it.
Washburn University political scientist Bob Beatty said Moore is considered a heavy favorite.
But Beatty said the question is whether this will be a change election against incumbents or Republicans who held Congress for a decade.
