A Democrat running for Shawnee County district attorney is making an issue of recent allegations from abortion provider Dr. George Tiller.

Chad Taylor is running against Republican Eric Rucker for the prosecutor's job. Rucker lives in Shawnee County but is chief deputy for Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline.

Rucker says Taylor is trying to distract voters from his lack of experience.

Tiller has attacked both Kline and Rucker in a recent court filing. Before he was Johnson County prosecutor, Kline was attorney general — and investigated Tiller.

Tiller now faces 19 misdemeanor charges in Sedgwick County, and he's trying to get them dismissed or key evidence suppressed. He has accused Kline and Rucker of misconduct during the investigation, which they dispute.
