A northeast Missouri man has been fined after authorities found more than 30 exotic animals at his home, including alligators, snakes, scorpions and spiders.

An anonymous tip led Palmyra police to the home of Brandon Boyles. State conservation and St. Louis Zoo officials assisted.

Police Chief Eddie Bogue says that among the animals found at Boyles' home were a 6-foot-long alligator and various types of snakes, including one that was 13 feet long.

The raid was Jan. 30, but Bogue announced details Monday.

Boyles pleaded guilty and was fined for violating a Palmyra ordinance that prohibits exotic pets.
