Teams from 13 countries competed last weekend for the World Wife Carrying Championship.

The event held in Finland consisted of 36 racers from 13 different nations such as Australia, Japan and the United States. A couple from Finland won the wife hauling contest for the first time in 11 years. Organziers said nearly 10,000 people showed up to watch the race in its 14th year.
