The federal government is launching an online database of complaints against credit cards.

Consumers can go to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's' site to see what types of complaints have been filed against any bank that issues credit cards.

They can also search complaints by zip code and see how the banks responded.

The database does not include customer's personal information.
