Kansas Company Plans To Cut Half Its Workforce

Snorkel International in northeast Kansas
says it expects to lay off half of its work force by early January.

A letter from the company to city leaders in its base of Elwood,
Kansas, and in St. Joseph, Missouri, warned that 185 employees will
likely be laid off by Jan. 6. Snorkel laid off 100 in September and
closed the plant for a week in October.
