Richmond, Calif. -- A woman in Richmond, Calif. trying to exercise at a local gym says she was told to cover up because her body violated a gym code.
Tiffany Austin is recovering after a car accident and her doctor recently told her to start walking more. So Tiffany signed up at the Planet Fitness gym to begin walking on the treadmill.
Austin says fifteen minutes after beginning her workout, a staff member told her, her toned body was intimidating other people in the gym and she was asked to put on a shirt.
Austin says she was told wearing a half-shirt and Capri pants was a violation of the gym's code.
Austin says she doesn't feel that her outfit was outlandish. She said she felt judged by the whole ordeal.
A corporate spokesperson with Planet Fitness says the gym stands by its dress code, but if Austin was criticized for being toned or fit that is "not in line with Planet Fitness."
