A thief has been arrested after the suspect returned to the scene of a crime.
Officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of E. 9th Street early Friday morning. Police said a homeowner called 911 after catching a burglar in the act. The suspect then ran away from the home.
Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police, said that while officers were working the burglary, the suspect was spotted riding a bike in the area.
“Our residents were able to point him out and say that was the person that was inside our house,” Nolte said.
The suspect was arrested and charged with aggravated burglary, criminal damage and theft. The case will be turned over to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s office for review.
