Ardmore, OK -- Ardmore, Oklahoma police took a man into custody after a bizarre incident early Tuesday morning that included stolen underwear and the shooting of a dog.
It happened around 4 a.m. when police responded to the report of a burglary at an Ardmore apartment complex. ABC affiliate KOCO-TV reports that the victim told police clothing, including underwear and other personal items, had been stolen.
While police were investigating, several shots were fired in the area. Police soon learned an elderly woman's dog had been shot.
Officers located a vehicle nearby and when the tried to make contact with the driver, he fled into a nearby apartment. The suspect, Octavius Godwin, was eventually taken into custody.
Police also found several bags of marijuana inside the apartment.
