The Arkansas City Police Department investigated a crash Sunday that appears to have been caused by a spider.

It happened near the East Madison underpass. According to Chief Sean Wallace, the driver, a 23-year-old man, reported that he saw a spider crawling on his car window and tried to kill it with a cup.

When he looked up he saw that he was driving towards the center poles of the bridge but he was able to avoid hitting them head on. He hit the edge of the bridge and flipped his truck on its side.

The man was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
