Coyotes Spotted At Chicago's Wrigley Field

Wild baseball fans are a standard sight at Chicago's historic Wrigley Field. But a pair of wild coyotes wasn't what photographer Will Byington was expecting on a busy Friday night.

Byington was shooting a concert at a bar across the street from the stadium when he saw the two coyotes near the ticketing area.

The ballpark is surrounded by bars, restaurants and busy streets. But Byington says the animals seemed unfazed by the honking horns and packed sidewalks, and jokes that maybe "they were on a date, taking a stroll."

Wildlife ecologist Stanley Gehrt has extensively studied coyotes living in and around Chicago. He says coyotes have been in the area for the past decade and that Cook County, where Chicago is located, has at least 2,000 of the animals.
