ASPEN, Colo A wedding so elaborate that it has raised eyebrows in Aspen may prompt zoning changes in the resort community.

A ceremony planned Saturday on private land near Aspen Mountain outside town has sparked neighbor complaints and derision from local officials.

The Aspen Times reports that the ceremony involves a temporary chapel and a 27,000-square-foot tent. Trucks have been making trip after trip to bring supplies to a meadow zoned as rural.

The bride-to-be is Alex Steel, daughter of Aspen Institute chairman Robert Steel. Property owner John Miller says the event is bigger than he thought it would be and asked for patience.

The county does not have the power to intervene under current regulations, but commissioners meet next week to discuss an emergency ordinance to handle future big events.
