WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) -- The prosecution at Kerry Kennedy's drugged-driving trial is disputing her claim that she didn't know she was impaired after accidentally taking a sleeping pill.

Prosecutor Doreen Lloyd insisted during closing arguments Thursday that Kennedy must have felt drowsy or dizzy before a 2012 accident.

The suburban New York jury has begun deliberating.

The prosecutor acknowledged that Kennedy thought she was taking her thyroid pill.

Defense attorney Gerald Lefcourt said Kennedy is not seeking an advantage because of her family.

She is the ex-wife of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and the niece of the late President John F. Kennedy.
