The FBI and Homeland Security Department say there is no specific or credible terror threat tied to the 12th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

An intelligence bulletin obtained by The Associated Press says al-Qaida remains committed to carrying out attacks on Western targets, but there's no information pointing to plots tied to 9/11 or the anniversary of the attack last year on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

The September 5 bulletin makes no mention of Syria, even as President Barack Obama seeks authorization for the use of force in response to a chemical weapons attack the administration says killed more than 1,400 people.
