Feds Seek Life For Florida Woman In Family Killings

Monday, December 3, 2012

New York prosecutors say a Florida woman convicted of arranging the killings of her husband and mother-in-law should spend the rest of her life in prison.

The U.S. attorney's office filed its sentencing recommendation Monday in the case of Narcy Novack of Fort Lauderdale and her brother, Cristobal Veliz.

Novack's husband was Ben Novack Jr., son of the founder of the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach.

Narcy Novack and Veliz were convicted in June of orchestrating the gruesome 2009 slayings, one in Fort Lauderdale and one in Rye Brook, N.Y.

In its memo, prosecutors describe them as evil, dangerous and relentless. It says they engaged in "the very worst criminal conduct imaginable."

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 17.
