A report says dozens of armed men in military uniforms have seized an airport in Ukraine's strategic Crimea region.
Witnesses tell the Interfax news agency the 50 or so men were wearing the same gear early Friday as the ones who seized government buildings in Simferopol Thursday and raised the Russian flag.
The report says the men with "Russian Navy ensigns" surrounded the Simferopol Airport's domestic flights terminal.
The events have heightened tensions with neighboring Russia, which scrambled fighter jets to patrol borders.
Russia also has granted shelter to Ukraine's fugitive president, Viktor Yanukovych, after violent protests in Kiev.
