Authorities have been testing suspicious letters with powdery substances addressed to governors of at least six states, though it appears five of them have tested negative for anything harmful.
Test results on a sixth letter, which was to Missouri's governor but never made it to state offices, are expected later today. Letters were also sent to the governors of Alabama, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana and Rhode Island.
The letters were sent to Republicans and Democrats alike, and state officials in Alabama won't say if any political message was included. The one sent to Rhode Island's governor was mailed out of Dallas last Thursday.
