Being deployed won't mean that Fort Riley soldiers will necessarily miss out on spring graduations.

The directorate for information management is coordinating with several Fort Riley area school districts to provide video teleconference links with upcoming graduation ceremonies.

Currently, families are scheduled to watch high school graduations from Abilene, Manhattan and Junction City through May 24.

Four high schools in the Central Flint Hills Region have been identified as having seniors of deployed soldiers. Links with the White City ceremonies were offered but not needed by soldier families.

Curtis Blanke, chief of visual information, said families were offered one-on-one time with soldiers before or after graduation.
