Wednesday marked a once in a lifetime date 12/12/12. You may be wondering, what's the big deal? Last year it was 11/11/11, before that 10/10/10. But this is the last time the month, day and year will be the same number for nearly a century.

Josephine Marie Mendoza was born December 12, 2012 or 12/12/12. The unusual birth date was a surprise for her parents, she wasn't due for another week.

“I thought about it about a week ago and I thought that would be cool but didn't put any stock in it. I mean what are the odds of that happening,” New dad Eloy Mendoza said.

Little Josephine was the first baby born on 12/12/12 at any of the Via Christi hospitals, so she's gotten a lot of attention.

'This morning we were talking about it what's the big fuss and we had to Google it,” Mendoza said.

The date is a big deal because it will be the last "triple digit date" for a nearly a century. The next one isn't until January 1, 2101.

Kacie Kaupan turned 12 on 12/12/12.

"It started to click like three months before so I got excited about that I asked my mom if I could have a party,” Kaupan said.

Couples at the Sedgwick County Courthouse took advantage of the chance to have a memorable anniversary date.

"Oh we wanted a significant date and 12/12/12 seemed like a good time,” Newlywed Roy Pearce said.

Most of us, won't see the calendar read 12/12/12 again in our lifetimes. For the people we talked with, the date is one they'll never forget.
