Light snow could affect portions of KAKEland today.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for areas along and southeast of the Turnpike, including Wichita and Sedgwick County.
The advisory is in effect for Saturday afternoon and evening. Light snow could start to fall by early to mid afternoon and continue through the evening hours.
Areas along the Turnpike, including Wichita, could see a trace to 1 inch of accumulation while portions of the Flint Hills could see up to 2 to 4 inches. The snow should taper down to flurries by late evening and end completely by midnight.
Even with temperatures at or above freezing this afternoon, some slick roads will be possible, especially in the heavier snow bands. Travel could be affected more as temperatures drop below freezing after dark.
