Snow accumulated in Pratt County, which caused slick conditions for some drivers.
"If a guy had to make a sudden stop or a suddent movement, why I'm sure you'd have trouble," said Roger Sue, who was driving east on US-54. "There were two or three trucks in the ditch, a couple of pick ups along the way."
The snow turned into slush across the city of Pratt as the day progressed. Emergency crews responded to a few reports of cars sliding off roads because some spots were icy.
"People aren't used to driving on the ice and snow yet this year," said Mark McManaman, administrator for Pratt County Emergency and Medical Services. "I've seen people today that have slid through intersections and so forth because the streets are slick and they're driving a little bit too fast."
McManaman wanted to remind drivers to slow down and to budget extra time to get to places in the morning.
