A North Carolina man and two Texas associates are behind bars, charged with coming to Wichita to sell more than $70,000 worth of meth.

Federal charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine were filed last week against 29-year-old Jorge Castro-Cisneros of Hickory, North Carolina, 26-year-old Fabrizio Tovar-Rodriguez and 37-year-old Daniel Santiago-Bermudez, both of Houston.

According to the complaint, back in October Castro-Cisneros allegedly spoke with an undercover Wichita police detective about coming to Wichita to sell meth for $24,000 a pound.

The deal was made, Castro-Cisneros arrived in Wichita on January 15. He told the undercover detective that the drugs would be arriving the next day from Houston.

On January 16, a Chevrolet pickup with Texas tags met Castro-Cisneros and the undercover detective at a motel in west Wichita. The detective told the pickup driver to follow him, and they stopped near Central and Ridge.

There, the men were arrested and inside the engine compartment of the truck, a package was found containing more than three pounds of meth.

The men face a prison sentence of 5 to 40 years and a fine up to $5 million.
