A man has been arrested after filing a false report and damaging a Wichita Police patrol car.
Authorities were called to a Quik Trip in the 600 block of S. Hillside around 5:15 a.m. Monday. A man called police to report a robbery.
Police said the man was arrested after investigators determined the robbery did not happen. The man was placed into the back of a patrol car.
Officials said the man then became agitated with the officers, even urinating inside the car and kicked out a back window. Damage is estimated at $400.
Investigators aren't sure why the man originally called police about a fake robbery.
A 33-year-old man was booked into the Sedgwick County Detention Center for filing a false report and vandalism to a police vehicle.
The case will be turned over to the District Attorney's Office for review.
