Man Hurt In K-96 Accident

A Wichita man was critically hurt in an accident on K-96 in East Wichita this afternoon. The accident happened in the northbound lanes near 13th Street after noon.

A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper said Charles Johnson, 25, drove the van into the median, went back on the highway, then off the right side of the road where it rolled.

Johnson had his seat belt on, but witnesses found him barely responsive in the passenger seat. He was listed in fair condition at Wesley Medical Center late Friday afternoon.

Troopers don't know what caused the accident.
