Man Bites Police Officer During Arrest

A 35-year-old man is behind bars after biting a police officer who was working to break up a bar brawl. It happened just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday at The Place bar in the 4800 block of East Harry.

Investigators say police were responding to a large disturbance at the bar when the man refused to drop the knife was holding. Officers used their Tasers on the man to subdue him. The man then bit one officer on the hand as he was being arrested.

Two others were also arrested for inciting others to join in on the disturbance. The incident is under investigation.
