An Arkansas City man has been booked into the Cowley County Jail, accused of embezzling money from the Senior Center
Forty-seven-year-old Edward Gregore Greene was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon according to Arkansas City Police Chief Sean Wallace.
Wallace says Greene was arrested on six felony counts related to his participation in crimes he allegedly committed while serving as Director of Senior Services at the Arkansas City Senior Citizens Center.
The alleged embezzlement totals well over $100,000. Some of the funds were taken from memorial contributions and donations, while others allegedly misappropriated from local bank accounts associated with the Senior Center.
Greene abruptly resigned from his position on September 4 of 2012 and was replaced by Kristin Sparks in October. He is currently being held in the Cowley County Jail on $10,000 bond.
