Hays police are looking for a man after a stranger danger report Thursday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. at a bus stop near 24th Street and Allen Street. Hays police said in a news release that two boys, ages 10 and 13, were waiting for the bus when a man in a dark green pickup stopped and motioned for the boys to come to him.

The boys’ mother witnessed the incident and began approaching the pickup. She reported that when the man saw her, he quickly left the area, running a stop sign in the process.

The man was described as a white male, possibly in his 40s, with long brown hair and wearing a hat. The pickup was described as dark green extended cab with a white toolbox at the front of the bed.

There has only been one incident reported.
