An Oklahoma firm is recalling frozen country fried steaks nationwide due to possible foreign matter contamination.
AdvancePierre Foods of Enid, Okla., announced the recall Friday of “Fast Classics Country Fried Steaks” with a production date of December 21, 2012, which were distributed to Walmart Stores.
The firm alerted the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service after the company received complaints from two customers who each received an oral injury upon eating the product. The problem was a result of a piece of a plastic bin being introduced into the production process and then being broken into smaller pieces.
Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
Consumers with questions about the recall may contact AdvancePierre Consumer Affairs at (855) 328-8888.
