Four children have been taken protective custody after police say school officials alerted them to a case of possible child abuse.
Police say the principal of Dodge Literacy Magnet Elementary called 911 on Monday to report one of his students had a suspicious injury. The 6-year-old girl had a bruise on her face and the story she gave the principal cause him to believe she may be the victim of abuse.
Officers went to the child's home and determined the girl and and her three siblings needed to be taken into protective custody. The children, two girls and two boys, range in age from 5 to 7.
The Exploited and Missing Child Unit is investigating. No arrests have been made.
