Firefighters have extinguished a fire in the ceiling of an Andover church.
Wednesday morning, fire crews were dispatched to the report of a fire at Hope Community Church located in the 1800 block of East 21st Street North in Andover.
Crews found a fire in one part of the building between the ceiling and the roof, and were able to keep it from spreading.
The fire was contained to one area, but did cause some smoke damage to other parts of the building. The preliminary damage estimate is around $30,000
A preschool in another part of the building was evacuated as a precaution, but no one was injured.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
