Fire caused heavy damage to the attic of a northeast Wichita home Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to a home in the 4100 block of North Jasmine Drive, just north of 37th Street North and Rock Road, about 4 p.m. The fire was reported after a neighbor noticed the roof was on fire and notified the people who live there.
Nobody was hurt and firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to the attic. However, other parts of the home suffered water damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Damage to the home and its contents is estimated at $150,000.
