Police are investigating after a father tried to remove a BB from his child's skull after an accidental shooting.
It happened Wednesday night in the 1700 block of North Minnesota.
Police say a 12-year-old boy was playing with a BB gun when he accidentally shot himself in the head.
The boy's father then tried to remove the BB with a utility knife, but was unsuccessful.
A day later on Thursday, the man took his son to a hospital where it was removed.
Police were notified and the boy was taken into protective custody while the investigation is underway.
