A 5-month-old baby boy died from his injuries after a car as it was struck by a train in northeast Sumner County.
The boy, Aidan Fells of Mulvane, died early Tuesday at Wesley Medical Center.
Sumner County Sheriff Deputy Roger Church says the impact of the
freight train striking the car flung the infant out of his car seat. An emergency worker started using CPR on the child after locating the baby.
The boy's mother, Michelle Fells, was driving along K-15 just before noon Monday when her car was struck by a train at Oxford Road near Udall. The mother was not seriously injured.
There is a memorial fund set up in the name of the baby at the Mulvane State Bank at PO Box 158, Mulvane, 67110.
