July 7 - A man accused of secretly videotaping teenage girls in a high school locker room appears before a judge.
The man is a former employee of Kapaun Mt. Carmel Catholic High School. 43-year old Regelio Buan worked at Kapaun for 8 years. Now he is charged with sexual exploitation of a child, after he allegedly taped girls in a locker room.
The tape is said to have been made about five years ago, but it wasn't until about a few months ago the Catholic Diocese received an anonymous letter telling them of the possibiltiy of the tape. School officials searched the premises but found nothing. A short time later, police informed the school they found the tape.
EMCU arrested Buan Tuesday. He worked in the maintenance department of the school from March 1996 until March of 2004. The Catholic Diocese says he was then terminated for reasons unrelated to this case. Buan will be back in court later this month.
School and Catholic Diocese say they're pleased with the progress, and will continue to work with police on this case.
