Sumner County authorities and the KBI aren't talking about the death of a 19-year-old southern Kansas man who was struck by a train.

But sources say Argonia High School graduate Jacob Allen had been tied to the tracks.

Crew members on the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe train that hit Allen before dawn Monday thought a traffic cone had been tossed on the tracks.

They stopped, but found nothing.

The crew on the next freight train spotted Allen's body more than ten feet away. His clothing was found further down the line.

Family and friends of the high school valedictorian and athlete are shocked by what happened.

A rosary service will be held tomorrow in Conway Springs. The funeral mass is Saturday, also at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway Springs.
